State of Play: Southeast Michigan - Released in June 2017, the report represents the first-ever analysis of how well a region's stakeholders are serving the health needs of kids and communities through sport. More than 1,000 local adults and youth informed the report through interviews, roundtables, focus groups, and surveys. The reports feature original data on rates of sport participation, physical activity, and coach training; identifies 40 key findings; offers five major recommendations, one big “Game Changer” opportunity, and 24 sector-specific ideas that stakeholders can plug into; and includes an economic impact assessment on what's possible if stakeholders can get more youth physically active.
